We act as an inter-dealer broker (IDB) for Physical and Derivatives products such as fuel oil, diesel and gasoil, as well as for components to blend these products:

Biodiesel.

Biodiesel is a renewable, biodegradable fuel manufactured domestically from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant grease. The process used to convert these oils to Biodiesel is called transesterification. Unlike the vegetable and waste oils used to fuel converted diesel engines, biodiesel is a drop-in biofuel, meaning it is compatible with existing diesel engines and distribution infrastructure.

Ethanol.

Ethanol is an alcohol and is used for a variety of purposes – including as a renewable fuel blended into petrol. Renewable ethanol is produced sustainably from biomass feedstock – mainly cereals and sugar beet, but also processing residues and waste.

It is used around the world to reduce the carbon footprint of petrol, boost engine
efficiency and performance, and lower costs.

Tickets.

Biofuels tickets are instruments used by obligated parties in the EU to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emission quotas under RED II. European countries issue these tickets primarily to biofuel suppliers, and obligated parties purchase them to meet emission reduction requirements for transporting biofuels.

These tickets are traded in regulated markets, ensuring compliance and encouraging the use of renewable fuels. Non-compliance may result in penalties, making biofuel tickets a crucial tool in achieving climate targets. Each country operates its own ticket system with distinct regulations and pricing mechanisms.

Sunco acts as a broker for the following Biofuel Tickets: THG (Germany), RTFC (UK), HBE (Netherlands), and TIRUERT (France).

Derivatives.

We act as an inter-dealer broker (IDB) for Physical & Derivatives products such as gasoil, gasoline, heating oil and biofuels, by offering a tailored approach to customers and enhancing liquidity in the market.

Biogas.

Biogas is methane produced by the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter by anaerobes. It can be made from biodegradable waste or using energy crops fed into an anaerobic digester to supplement gas production.

The solid by-product digestate can be used as biofuel or fertilizer. When CO2 and other pollutants are removed from biogas, it is called biomethane. Biogas can be obtained from mechanical biological waste treatment systems.

Carbon Credits.

A carbon credit is a certified instrument that represents the avoidance, absorption, or reduction of 1 ton of CO2 equivalent emissions achieved through climate action projects.

These credits can be used to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The voluntary carbon market provides individuals and companies the opportunity to regularly offset their emissions.

As corporate responsibility and customer demand for sustainability grow, and with EU legislation promoting climate neutrality, carbon credits are projected to reach $50 billion by 2030. Carbon credits are means to take action, meet environmental goals, and contribute to a thriving low-carbon economy.
